What is InfoLister?

InfoLister is an extension for Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, Nvu, and Sunbird that collects various information about the host application and saves it to a file. Currently it prints the list of installed extensions, themes, and plugins.

Install InfoLister 0.10 (works in Firefox 2, 3, Thunderbird 1.5 and 2, Sunbird 0.7 and later, SeaMonkey 2 alphas)

Also available from addons.mozilla.org. You can read the changelog to see the list of changes between the versions.

After installation, access InfoLister via the Tools menu.

Features:

• Lists installed extensions, themes, and plugins.
• HTML, plain text, BBCode, XML, and custom output.
• FTP upload (help).
• Quick access: menu item (Tools > InfoLister), toolbar button, or about:info in the Location Bar.

Example output: HTML, plain text, XML (styled with XSLT+CSS).

FAQ

1. Q: (When) will you add support for X?

   A: I haven't been working actively on InfoLister for a while. When/if I start developing it again, these items will be on the to-do list. Patches are always welcome, though!

2. Q: What are the suggested improvements for InfoLister?
   • Listing search engines
   • Listing GreaseMonkey scripts
   • Support for entering add-on annotations and displaying them in the listing
   • CSV output (as an easy way to export to Excel, for example)
   • Right-click copy to clipboard function in the InfoLister window
